繪本由簡短文字與特色圖畫組成，不分年齡皆容易閱讀，且圖像語言跨越國際，是全世界共通的語言，透過繪本可看見世界文化，亦能讓世界看見臺灣，因此支持原創繪本是另一條讓臺灣走進世界的道路。

　　高市圖國際繪本中心創辦《好繪芽—繪本創作人才扶植計畫》，以教學、徵件、媒合出版、輔助購買、推廣活動與資源串接等內容，辦理「繪本創作班」、「繪本創作獎助　」與「繪本共築計畫」三大系列。希望透過扶植計畫的播種與灌溉，以完善的機制輔佐臺灣繪本作家，讓更多繪本的小種籽在這片土地發芽茁壯、讓孩子有更多元的故事能選擇。期待大家在閱讀中更貼近自己的家鄉，感受在地化的圖像語言，進而深入了解自己的文化脈絡，灌溉與豐富生命之林。

Accessible to readers of all ages, picture books blend simple language with unique illustrations. The visual language featured in such books transcends national borders and is used worldwide. As such, picture books allow us to learn about different cultures around the globe and in turn, give others a glimpse into Taiwan. By supporting original Taiwanese picture books, we can help Taiwan better connect with the world.

To bring this vision to life, the Kaohsiung Public Library International Picture Book Center launched the KPL Picture Book Sprouting Cultivation Program, which offers educational activities, open calls, opportunities to match with publishers, as well as assistance in purchases, advertising, and securing necessary resources. This initiative boasts a robust framework featuring the Picture Book Sprouting Creative Course, Sprouting Awards, and Sprouting Co-Creation Program to facilitate the growth of local picture book creators and give our children a wider array of stories to choose from. We invite our readers to revel in the beauty of the local visual language as they dive deeper into their own culture and feel closer to this place that we call home.
